Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has dropped his captain from last week Naas Olivier and brought back Heinrich Brussouw in his team to face the Lions.
Drotske has given the captaincy to Andries Strauss as Sias Ebersohn has replaced Olivier who drops to the bench and Riaan Viljoen replaces Hennie Daniller.
In the forwards Martin Muller comes in for Waltie Vermeulen and Wilhelm Steenkamp has been given the Vice Captaincy.
Philip van der Walt replaces Francois Uys and Kabamba Floors drops to the bench for Brussow.
The Cheetahs are currently in last place on the Super rugby standings but they host the Lions this week who are one place above them on the table.
Strauss will be the fourth Cheetahs captain in as many matches. In their season opening match the now injured hooker Adriaan Strauss was captain.
In Round two Juan Smith regained the captaincy - albeit for just two minutes - and then last week Olivier was captain.
